Linux multicast routing

Hi,

I am implementing a IP multicast router using a Linux Machine. I think
That linux has native KERNEL multicast routing support. I have made some
research on the web and everything related to Linux Multicast has
more than 5 years !!!! What is going on ??!?!
Do I need the mrouted application ?? Does kernel have all multicast support
Necessary ?
