I think that maybe the program needs a specification before we can really use metrics to measure anything. I too would like to see IPMT eventually give verbose output on the state of the registry. However, will this not to some extent duplicate functionality of programs such as asused-public that already exist? Please clarify what you would like, because I think I am still confused. I think that Maldwyn's comments would be useful here.
