This policy appears to work quite effectively in ARIN policy discussions. More pointedly, when such efforts are *not* taken, the membership tends to get quite upset. Mailing lists are one of the few ways for RIPE to open its policy making discussions to all interested parties. As such, all proposed changes to RIPE policies should definitely be posted in lir-wg in advance of their discussion at RIPE meetings. Hans-Petter's policy process change is a good one, in my opinion. /david
