hi! > How is this proposed +8787 different from the current +87810? (Other > then the goverance portion?) visionng is set up as an organization to support its members. this is a different approach than the one of the RIRs which is aimed at the community of all internet users. visionng's aim is to support a set of specific technical solutions, it requires its members to adopt a specific technical framework that has been decided upon in the visionng context. the number space was probably requested by visionng because of the lack of available non geographic upts, managing such a number resource for the general public wasn't the aim. visionng does not actually focus on voip or the ip part alone, but also on PSTN networks and technology. also, i guess compared to the RIRs visionng generally cannot be seen as an open organization, it is not aimed at and probably can not provide for upts for the general public. visionng seems to be somebody who could profit from the proposed setup, as the numbers would be portable to and from pstn of visionng members. but if you wish to know more about visionng, it's certainly a beter idea to ask richard stasny. kind regards, Chris Heinze
