Thanks for this Vesna. It's a pity that the same questions are being asked over and over, but I'm really glad the chairs handled them well. I genuinely wonder what about a CoC makes an event harder for someone. I mean, I can imagine some things, but they're all depressing. And finally, I'm very glad it was a quiet event for you from the point of view of the CoC. There's a balance here about whether things are happening and not being reported or not happening, but it's impossible to measure. At a recent large event where I was one of the senior people responsible for the CoC I know at least one bad thing never made it to our Listener team, but other than by continually raising awareness and making this process more normal, I don't have many other ideas for how to catch more events. Here are some personal impressions - including a chapter about the diversity (or lack thereof). In addition to what I wrote: I was a "3rd contact" for the reports of Code of Conduct (CoC) violations in the Community Management DevRoom -- and it was un-eventful: no-one called me to report anything. Still, there was a typical discussion about "do we need this" and "I don't see any problems" and "CoC just makes things worse for me". Chairs of the session were very patient in educating the participants on the needs behind the CoC. It was very useful for me to go through this yet another time. Kind regards, Vesna Manojlovic RIPE NCC _______________________________________________ diversity mailing list diversity at ripe.net https://mailman.ripe.net/
