running 3.1.1 and trying to get to 3.2.0

first line of UPDATING fails

    # mysql -ufoo -pbar -DRIPADMIN -e'ALTER TABLE names DROP PRIMARY KEY'
    ERROR 1146 at line 1: Table 'RIPADMIN.names' doesn't exist
