Deletion of German domains

Several times different proposals have been made to alleviate this problem
(without necessarily solving that of incomaptible data formats). What comes
to mind is the use of SRV RRs in the TLDs (with appropriate heuristics to catch
cases where actual registration takes place at a lower level, e.g. "co.uk").
Time to write up an I-D?
