I frequently read someone saying "RIPE is not the Internet<br>
Police" (even I have said that a few times myself) but the hard<br>
truth is that any RIR has a duty to exercise administrative authority. <br>
Finding the balance where this duty is an over-reach, as per the subject <br>
line of this hijacked thread, is an important discussion that I believe <br>
this wg should have sometime as this relates directly to abuse also...<br><br></blockquote><div><br></div>I fully support the 2019-03 proposal. Even if the final decision is in the sense that "RIPE is not the Internet Police", nothing should prevent RIPE of being a reliable source of verified information on fully confirmed proofs about entities incurring in BGP hijacking practices. Also, nothing prevents RIPE of recommending the consultation of certified and justified reputation information whenever people engage in business relationships with new "unknown entities". In my opinion, RIPE could be the support organisation of that repository. Just my two cents ...<br><br>All the best,<div>José L.M.</div><div><br></div><div> ---------------------------------------------------------</div><div>Jose Legatheaux Martins<br></div><div>President of ISOC Portugal<br><a href="https://legatheaux.eu/" target="_blank">https://legatheaux.eu</a></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
