This is why we have halfway sane IPv6 allocation policies today, and people who want to deploy IPv6 have been able to do so (and have done so). Moving to IPv6 some 10 years ago would have been MUCH less work, because the amount of IPv4-only devices that have been rolled out in these 10 years is enormous (10 years ago, there was no UMTS, and no IPv4-only UMTS handsets that now provice a large legacy to care for).
