Any nameserver has to be registered with the registry of the domain
(is there another way DNS works, I dont know ?)

So: you can always find the server running the nameserver for that domain.
Take this server down.

Again: a domain name is not something physical, its just a name
There are some registries offering domains where you do not
have to put nameservers in, when you dont want to.
There is no service running then under these domains, they
are just reserved names, nothing physical.

Lets say somebodies name is "John Doo". The name itself cannot
harm anybody, the person "named" John Doo can.
