There are approximately 2,950 16-bit ASNs left in our pool,
including the returned ASNs that are still referenced in other
database objects. <br>
<br>
At the current rate of assignment, the<font face="Helvetica,
Arial, sans-serif"> pool of 16<font face="Helvetica, Arial,
sans-serif">-</font>bit ASNs</font> will last 36 months.<br>
<br>
Within a few weeks, the RIPE NCC will start reassigning the
referenced ASNs:<br>

I think that we are already beyond the point of handing out 1* 16b ASn to each LIR and there isn't that much left in the free pool I'm guessing .. ( that is my gut feeling .. )
But the NCC should be able to answer the total number in the RIPE pool ...
