Perhaps it won't, but if it won't, then the IPv6 design has failed. IPv4
already has been around for 34 years or so (IIRC, we got it in 1981), and
will be something we have to work with for a couple of decades or more,
depending on whether IPv6 actually can replace IPv6 use that quickly. So
let's say, for simplicity's sake, that IPv4's lifetime turns out to be
50-60 years.

If IPv6 shouldn't be the mainstream communication protocol for the
timeframe I mentioned, someone had best get started on IPv7.

Well, I guess that's a nice document to point people to, if they're
unfamiliar with the history of IPv6 and the issues that have been raised.
