If you've investigated other approaches to inhibiting route hijacking and discarded them, please share. If you've merely assumed that this is the only/best/obvious/~ approach, I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest we should pause to see if we can come up with something else that doesn't turn control of routing from a distributed to a hierarchical system.
