That has already happened (due to a misunderstanding). The world 
didn't end. Didn't end when .pk announced youtube either. The internet
has survived for 40 years without such an infrastructure , in fact
probably *because* there was no such infrastructure.

Once upon a time I, too, was naive enough to think the "other party"
isn't being paid by the exact same people...
