There's still time to register, and if you can't make it to Dubai we have a wide range of remote participation options (webcasts, chat rooms, live stenography). All the information on participation, as well as the programme and other useful pages, are available from the RIPE 75 website: https://ripe75.ripe.net/ We'll also be tweeting throughout the event along with members of the RIPE community, so if you're active on social media don't forget to check out the #RIPE75 hashtag! RIPE NETWORKING APP Networking with fellow attendees at RIPE Meetings has become a whole lot easier! The RIPE Networking App, developed by the RIPE NCC and using open-source software, allows you to schedule meetings and send messages to fellow app users. Details on how to get the app are available at: https://ripe75.ripe.net/on-site/ripe-networking-app/ And Adam Castle has written a RIPE Labs article on the app that's available at: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/adam_castle/ripe-networking-app RIPE NCC GENERAL MEETING The General Meeting (GM) takes place on Tuesday next week (24 October) instead of the standard Wednesday. Over 1,000 RIPE NCC members have already registered to participate and we invite you to join them by registering via my.ripe.net at: https://www.ripe.net/s/gm-registration-oct-2017 At the GM, members will discuss the Draft RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2018, which gives a comprehensive overview of the RIPE NCC's plans for 2018 and the cost of those plans. Members will also vote on three resolutions at the GM relating to: - Redistribution of the RIPE NCC surplus in 2018 - Changes to the RIPE NCC Articles of Association - Changes to the RIPE NCC Conflict Arbitration Procedure All the supporting documents you need to make informed decisions are available from the General Meeting webpages: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/gm/meetings/october-2017/ CLEAN-UP OF "abuse-c" ATTRIBUTES On 16 October, we deployed whois release 1.90 to production. With this release it will be possible to add “abuse-c:” references to INET(6)NUM and AUT-NUM objects if you want to use an abuse contact for this resource that is different from the one in the ORGANISATION object for your LIR. With this release it will no longer be possible to add “abuse mailbox:” to objects other than ROLE objects that are referenced through “abuse-c:”. We will clean up existing other occurrences of “abuse mailbox:” on 30 October, and you will receive a notification with an explanation about this update if any of your objects are affected. You do not need to take any action because of this, but if you want to verify or change your abuse contact information you can do so using our web interface. You can find a link to view or modify your LIR’s organisation object at: https://my.ripe.net/#/account-details And you can review and modify your resource objects at: https://apps.db.ripe.net/db-web-ui/#/myresources/overview CHARGING FOR INDEPENDENT RESOURCE ASSIGNMENTS AND LEGACY RESOURCE REGISTRATIONS Independent Internet number resource assignments and legacy Internet resource registrations that will be charged for 2018 are available to LIR Billing users through the LIR Portal. LIRs can copy the list to the clipboard or download it as a CSV file. A snapshot of resources held was taken on 30 September and this is the basis for the charges to be made. ENGAGED IN A TRANSFER DUE TO MERGER OR ACQUISITION? If so, make sure you complete the process before the end of the year to avoid paying double fees for the next year! Still need to start the process? Request the update here: https://my.ripe.net/#/update-registry RIPE NCC COMMUNITY PROJECTS FUND On 22 October, we will start to accept applications for the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund.
