Following an earlier call for volunteers, a task force of members has formed to carry out an evaluation of the process for board elections:

-- Moderating members-discuss
A number of messages that breached the RIPE Mailing List Code of Conduct were sent to the members-discuss mailing list last week. As a result, the Executive Board decided to put the list in moderation until further notice:

-- RIPE NCC and CITC Sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
Last week, we signed an MoU with the Communication & Information Technologies Commission (CITC) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:

-- RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund - Call for Applications 2020
The RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund is now accepting applications for 2020. We provide up to EUR 250,000 every year to projects that support the good of the Internet:

We’re putting the final touches on the next RIPE NCC Certified Professionals exam, which will be announced soon. A big thank you to all the experts from the community who supported the exam creation process.

 

2. Your Technical Update
-- RPKI: Krill Gains Powerful ROA Management Based on BGP Routing
Supported by the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund, NLnetLabs launched Krill 0.7, which is the biggest update to their open source RPKI Certificate Authority software so far. This latest version lets you create and maintain Route Origin Authorisations (ROAs) based on your BGP announcements.

We hosted a RIPE NCC Open House event on how Internet service providers, DNS providers, content hosting providers and others are likely to be affected by the European Commission's upcoming Digital Services Act. Suzanne Taylor provides an overview of the discussion:

-- LACNIC Inter-RIR Transfer Policy Implemented
LACNIC recently implemented their inter-RIR transfer policy. IPv4 addresses can now be transferred between organisations in the RIPE NCC and LACNIC regions (IPv6 and AS Numbers are excluded from LACNIC's inter-RIR transfer policy):

-- RIPE NCC Open House: Internet in Kazakhstan
We invite RIPE NCC members and other Internet stakeholders in Kazakhstan to join us for this Open House discussion on Wednesday, 5 August from 10:00-11:30 (UTC). The event will be held in Russian.
We will be discussing various topics including the state of the Internet in Kazakhstan and across our service region, how RIPE NCC tools and measurements can help operators (RIPE Atlas, RIPEstat, RIPEIPmap, etc.) and more. You can register now at:

The call for presentations for ENOG 17 is now online:

Please submit your talk, including the abstract and draft version of the slides before 11 October 2020 for full consideration. Submissions filed before 6 September 2020 will be evaluated by the Programme Committee before 11 September 2020. Proposals submitted after this date will be considered depending on the slots still available in the programme.
