-- RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) May 2019
The GM will take place from 22-24 May 2019 in Reykjavik, adjacent to the
RIPE 78 Meeting. There are currently five confirmed candidates for the
Executive Board elections:

Members will also vote on the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2020 at the
General Meeting from 22-24 May. In response to requests from members,
the Executive Board is proposing two charging scheme options that the
members can choose from at the GM:

-- RIPE NCC Country Report: Russia
Would you like to find out what the current state of Internet
development in Russia is from our perspective? Country reports allow us
to analyse growth trends and Internet routing in specific countries. If
you’re interested in understanding how we’ve seen this particular region

-- Abuse-c Implementation Proceeding Well
After starting in mid-February, we have completed our initial validation
of the abuse contacts for all LIR ORGANISATION and resource objects.
This will be an ongoing activity, as we will check abuse contacts
whenever they are updated. We will also need to check the abuse contacts
of new LIRs.

We have now started our validation of the abuse contacts for End User
resource objects. If your organisation sponsors a large number of End
Users, we encourage you to start reviewing this information now to save
yourself time later.

We will share more information on our progress ahead of RIPE 78.

-- Your RIPEstat Update
In April, the usage of RIPEstat reached a new high: 74 million daily
requests coming from 1.6 million IP addresses:

All obsolete subdomains for RIPEstat have now been removed. Be sure to
go to stat.ripe.net as the only entry point to the service:

As the number of RIS peers is growing, we’ve updated the visibility
threshold for routed resources. A resource has to be seen by at least 10
RIS peers to be considered globally visible, as opposed to just three
peers before. This has an impact on all routing-related information:

The Announced Prefixes widget has been updated to only load recent
announcements (for performance reasons) by default and provide a button
that progressively loads the historical information. In addition, the
widget now only loads the “first seen” information when displaying
historical data:

-- We’ve Updated RIPE Atlas Terms and Conditions
The RIPE Atlas Service Terms and Conditions have now been amended to
reflect the fact that RIPE Atlas anchors are now available as both
physical hardware and as virtual machines. The updated version is

Corresponding changes were also made to the RIPE Atlas Anchor Memorandum
of Understanding:

-- RPKI Validator
Over the last few weeks, we have been working on software improvements
for the RPKI Validator. The latest build (3.0.407) offers a more stable
and faster user experience:

-- Measuring Paths in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Based on RIPE Atlas measurements, we can illustrate if paths between
different networks in a given country stay in that country and provide
sketches of interconnections between networks in that country. In this
article, we looked at the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina:

-- Visibility of IPv4 and IPv6 Prefix Lengths in 2019
As a community, we've been looking at emergent BGP behaviour since its
earliest days. Prefix lengths are one aspect of this. In a recent
article on RIPE Labs, we provide an update on the structure of announced
prefixes as observed by the RIPE NCC's Routing Information Service (RIS):

-- MENOG Meeting and Peering Forum Report
The 19th MENOG Meeting and Peering Forum took place in Beirut, Lebanon
from 3-4 April. A total of 236 people from 34 countries attended the
meeting and nearly 100 people participated remotely. This marks MENOG 19
as the highest attended meeting to date. You can read the Press Release

-- RIPE NCC Day Moscow
The first RIPE NCC Day was held in Moscow on 9 April. The one-day event
featured a mix of presentations from both our staff as well as community
members. 288 people attended the meeting from 13 countries. You can find

-- Results of the First RPKI Deployathon
Together with Juniper Networks, we co-hosted the first Deployathon on
RPKI. Nathalie Trenaman and Vesna Manojlovic led the day with Melchior
Aelmans, bringing together network professionals to work on practical
