is there recommended practice to avoid this trap?  always keep an md5
password active too?  that would seem ill-advised, yes?

ok.  i can try that.  thanks for help.  but ...

but the root question is why i am getting no email back from
auto-db?  it should at least be telling me my mail was signed
incorrectly.
