24 September 2009

The LIR Portal and registration for the General Meeting and RIPE Meeting Registration was unavailable for a planned Maintenance on Thursday 24 September, between 16:00 and 18:00 UTC.

This maintenance window enabled the RIPE NCC to perform essential software and application server maintenance.

12-14 September 2009

The list of RIPE NCC Members was unavailable from 12-14 September 2009


The problem was caused by an error in a script that runs each day to update member information. This script removes old data, clears the web page, generates new information and posts it online. Something happened to stop the generation of new pages.

For this reason, we have installed a safeguard. Existing data will only be replaced when the new set is available for posting. If an error occurs with the script, the previous data will stay available while the issue will be escalated and fixed as a priority.

9 September 2009

The LIR Portal, along with several other RIPE NCC online services, was unavailable from 06:30 - 08:30 (UTC),

The outage was caused by a faulty switch. We have performed emergency patching to fix the problem for now. A replacement switch will be installed between 15:00 - 16:00 (UTC), 9 September. A five-minute interruption to service is expected when we make this change.


From 08:34 (UTC) on 7 September 2009 until 15:00 (UTC), 8 September 2009, users were unable to access the DNSMON service. This issue has now been solved.

8 September 2009

The LIR Portal suffered an unplanned outage on Tuesday, 8 September from 02:40 - 08:15 (UTC).

We are currently investigating what caused this problem and will provide further details shortly. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.


From 08:34 (UTC) on 7 September 2009 until 15:00 (UTC), 8 September 2009, users were unable to access the DNSMON service. This issue has now been solved.
