RIPE NCC Speakers For Your Event

The RIPE NCC gives presentations on many Internet administration-related topics.

If you are holding an event and would like a speaker from the RIPE NCC to attend, please contact us at speaker@ripe.net. In most cases, the RIPE NCC will cover all the speaker's costs. All presentations can be tailored to each event's specific requirements.

RIPE NCC Speakers' Biographies

Speakers available to give presentations include the following RIPE NCC staff members:

Mark Dranse

Mark Dranse joined the RIPE NCC as manager of the newly formed Information Services Department at the start of January 2007. He is responsible for the development and support of the RIPE NCC's Test Traffic Measurement (TTM), Routing Information Service (RIS), DNS Monitoring (DNSMON) and Hostcount services.

For eight years prior to joining the RIPE NCC, Mark held various technical managerial roles with UK-based RIPE NCC member Demon Internet (THUS PLC) where he was responsible for domain names, IP addressing and Internet circuit provisioning.

Rumy Kanis

Rumy Spratley Kanis

The Training Services Department provides a wide variety of training courses, workshops and presentations on policies, procedures and tools relevant to RIPE NCC members and the RIPE community. In 2004, the Training Services Department gave around 70 training courses in 32 countries throughout the RIPE NCC service region. In total, about 1,600 LIR staff members received training from the RIPE NCC in 2004.

Rumy joined the RIPE NCC in November 2001. She received a BA in International Business Management and Languages from the HS Holland in Amsterdam.

Daniel Karrenberg

Daniel Karrenberg

Daniel Karrenberg is Chief Scientist of the RIPE NCC (www.ripe.net), an independent not-for-profit organisation that acts as the Regional Internet Registry and supports the infrastructure of the Internet for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia. He is a well-known figure in the global Internet community and is the Chair of the Internet Society's (ISOC) Board of Trustees. Daniel was instrumental in establishing the global RIR structure and is an active contributor to international discussions around Internet governance.

Expertise: Daniel can talk about almost anything the RIPE NCC is connected with.


Robert Kisteleki

Robert Kisteleki has been working on developing web-based e-commerce solutions and portals since 1994. From there his focus gradually shifted to information security. He has been part of a core team that built a public certification authority from the ground up in Hungary; he later became the manager of these services.

He joined the RIPE NCC in 2006 as a System Architect and he became the manager of the Science Group in 2008. In this role, he leads a dedicated team of thinkers to support the RIPE community by providing network research, data analysis and prototype tool development.

He has an MSc degree as a Program Designer Mathematician from the Eotvos Lorand University (ELTE) in Budapest, and a BSc in Management. He also holds CISSP and GSEC certifications.

Xavier le Bris

Xavier le Bris joined the RIPE NCC in 2002 as an IP Resource Analyst in the Registration Services Department. He also delivers RIPE NCC Training Courses to Local Internet Registries.

Vesna Manojlovic

ince 1999, Vesna Manojlovic has been working as a trainer for the RIPE NCC, developing and delivering presentations and training courses on distributing IP resources and operating a Local Internet Registry (LIR). She is a co-author of the RIPE document "RIPE whois Database User Manual".

In 2002, she took part in developing an advanced, hands-on course: "Routing Registry for LIRs". She has been delivering and further developing this course eveer since, giving talks at related conferences and researching tools for utilising the Routing Registry and for configuring routers based on RPSL information.

Vesna received a BS in Computer Science and Informatics from School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade.

Arno Meulenkamp

Arno Meulenkamp has worked as a Technical Advisor and Trainer at the RIPE NCC since 2001, and is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Arno studied Economics at the University of Amsterdam and Communications at the University of Nijmegen. From 1997 - 2001 he worked for Hewlett Packard, fulfilling several different functions.

In his role as Technical Advisor and Trainer, Arno ensures that the RIPE NCC's Training Services Department is up-to-date with the latest Internet and technological developments. He also travels frequently to countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia to deliver RIPE NCC Training Courses. Arno also gives regular presentations on Internet number resource allocation and assignment statistics, the Routing Registry and DNS Security (DNSSEC) at worldwide industry events.

Franz Schwarzinger

Franz Schwarzinger has been working with RIPE NCC as a Software Engineer since 2007. As part of the Information Services Department he works on support and development of the RIPE NCC's Routing Information Service (RIS), Test Traffic Measurement, DNS Monitoring (DNSMON) and Hostcount services.

Prior to his work at the RIPE NCC, Franz graduated from the University of Applied Science in Vienna and worked on several information technology related projects throughout his studies.

Expertise: Performance Monitoring, Routing Information Service (RIS)
