The Working Party on Communication Infrastructure and Services Policy (CISP) is a government working party designed to help governments understand the future of the Internet economy.

Its purpose is to support the United Nations Secretary-General in carrying out the mandate from the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) with regard to convening a new forum for multi-stakeholder policy dialogue.

These meetings explain how to participate in IP address management policy-making and discuss technical topics such as IP address space management and root server operations.
The most recent RIPE NCC Roundtable meeting for Governments and Regulators was held on 21 September 2009 in Amsterdam at the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center.

  A briefing paper from the Number Resource Oganization (NRO) providing answers to common questions about IPv6 from policy makers, executives and other non-technical readers.
arrow OECD Welcomes Formation of the Internet Technical Advisory Committee (ITAC)
  The recognition by the OECD of ITAC formalises the role that the technical community will play in helping to shape the policies and practices through a shared vision that will be developed as the Internet grows and continues to act as a catalyst for economic and social development all over the world.

arrow RIPE Cooperation Working Group
  During 2008, the RIPE Cooperation Working Group emerged from the RIPE Enhanced Cooperation Task Force. The purpose of the working group is to provide a forum for discussing cooperation between the private and public sectors on Internet related matters.
arrow RIPE NCC Attends OECD Ministerial Meeting
  In June 2008, the RIPE NCC, together with industry partners, took part in ministerial discussions on the future of the Internet in a global economy.
arrow RIPE NCC Participating in OECD Working Party on IP Addresses
  The RIPE NCC has been working with the Working Party on Communication Infrastructure and Services Policy (CISP), a government working party designed to help governments understand the future of the Internet economy.

arrow The RIPE Enhanced Co-operation Task Force
  The RIPE Task Force on Enhanced Cooperation was formed at RIPE 54 in May 2007 to advise on issues of enhanced cooperation between the RIPE community and relevant stakeholders, particularly governments and regulators.
   
arrow RIPE NCC Awarded Special Status from United Nations
  In 2007, the RIPE NCC was awarded Special Consultative Status by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. With this consultative status, the RIPE NCC can designate official representatives to help advise the United Nations on issues related to Internet number resource management and the technical coordination of the Internet.
   
2006
arrow RIPE NCC and the IGF
  The RIPE NCC actively participated in the WSIS process and continues, along with its fellow Regional Internet Registries RIRs as part of the Number Resource Organization, to contribute to each IGF meeting.
   
2003 -2005
arrow World Summit on the Information Society
 

The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) was held in two phases. The first phase took place in Geneva hosted by the Government of Switzerland from 10-12 December 2003, and the second phase took place in Tunis hosted by the Government of Tunisia, from 16-18 November 2005.

  The RIPE NCC participated in the WSIS on behalf of the RIPE NCC members and the Internet community as a whole. As a result of its activities in the WSIS, the RIPE NCC was nominated for an Internet Hero Award.
