1. I want to become a Direct Assignment User. How much does it cost?
2. My customer cancelled the contract with my company. Can I get a refund?
3. My sponsoring LIR closed down. What should I do?
4. There are resources in my LIR Portal account for an organisation that is no longer my customer. How do I remove the resources from my account?
5. Why does the Direct Assignment User Account cost just as much as full membership of the RIPE NCC?

1. I want to become a Direct Assignment User. How much does it cost?

The cost of becoming a Direct Assignment User depends on the time of year in which your application is processed. For example, if your organisation applies for a direct assignment in the second quarter, you will pay three quarters of the annual service fee. If your organisation applies for a direct assignment in the fourth quarter, you will pay only a quarter of the annual service fee.

  • Dutch applicants and applicants from elsewhere in the EU without VAT numbers will be charged 19% Dutch VAT on top of the service fee.
  • All new applicants also pay a one-time administration fee of EUR 2,000. You will be charged for this on your first invoice.

For a detailed overview of the costs involved in becoming a Direct Assignment User, please see the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme and the RIPE NCC Billing Procedure and Fee Schedule.

2. My customer cancelled the contract with my company. Can I get a refund?

No. The billing score will be calculated on 30 September. All resources that are registered on your account on this date will determine the billing score.

3. My sponsoring LIR closed down. What should I do?

You should find another sponsoring LIR or you can apply for a Direct Assignment User account with the RIPE NCC. You can find a LIR in the list of all LIRs.

Find more information about the RIPE NCC Direct Assignment User Account.

4. There are resources in my LIR Portal account for an organisation that is no longer my customer. How do I remove the resources from my account?

End User Assignment Agreements will also need to be established with these End Users. The RIPE NCC is still working on the implementation of this part of the policy. More information on this will be made available in the second half of 2009.

5. Why does the Direct Assignment User Account cost just as much as full membership of the RIPE NCC?

The pricing for 2010 is set at the same level as a full membership. The 2010 Charging Scheme has determined this during the last RIPE Meeting of 2009.
We publish details of our fees each year on our website in November.
